Hi, I have a column filled with
2019 Q1, 2019 Q2, 2019 Q3, 2019 Q4, and 2020 Q1
I will like to sort based on the time sequence while the diagram only allows me to sort in ascending or decending order. Is there any way I can sort based on the time period? Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Has your problem been solved?
In fact, even if the column is a text column, the visual is arranged in ascending or descending order according to time.
Best regards,
Lionel Chen

Hi @Anonymous ,
What is the data type of the column, is it text or date?
Maybe you should use date hierarchical data.

@Anonymous , this should sort as it is in YYYY QQ format.
Else you can have qtr start date using Quarterstartdate
or
Qtr Year sort = format([date],"YYYYQ")
mark one of the two as the sort column :https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-sort-by-column
@Anonymous Look at my post at link below and it has sort option for quarters as well.
