How to sort a drop down menu in a custom order?

Hi, I have a drop down menu in a report, and the drop down options are months, but they are text, not a date, so its sorted in alphabetical order but I want it to be in chronological order, changing it to date format cant be done because of other parts of the report. I have looked at a bunch of solutions but none of them work because a lot of the options that the solutions use dont come up for me. For example, there is no Column Tools for me to click, nor any Sort by Column in the modelling tap. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

@Anonymous , if sort from three dots is not working then you need a sort column. I have a video on that, refer if that can help
