For data visualisation I use a stacked bar chart.
However some small values are not displayed by their amount, only when hovering over.
Since I want to export this graph to a PDF, I need the figures of the small values to be displayed by default.
I know that using other types of graphs might overcome this issue, but I prefer the stacked bar chart for this data.
Does anyone know how to show the small values by default?
Thanks in advance.
I've find a solution that worked to me. Instead of using Stacked Column Char, change to Clustered column chart.
Then go to Format visual, columns, layout. Change 'Space between series's to 100%. Overlap ON.
Then go to Data Labels and you will have an option to show the labels outside.
Did you ever find a solution for this? I am experiencing the same issue.
Hi All,
Does this issue has been solved yet? please anyone share the solution.
I have been facing with this small value issue via "Stacked Column Chart" tool.
Thanks and Best regard.
@freek_spithoven try this things on the visual settings:
font size to 8
toggle on overflow text
move label dnesity to 100%
Make your visual as tall as possible..
It's not 100% gurentee all of them will show
Another option is to switch the y axis to logarithmic scale (You need to force the minumum to something like 1 or 0.1 before able to toggle it on:
@SpartaBI thanks for your reply.
Where do I find the settings;
- Overlfow text
- Label density (I can't find it at data labels)
- I don't have the range function within the Y-axis settings, how can I add this?
The other points are already done but unfortunately didn't help.
@freek_spithoven I added a photo to the oiginal post. These settings are under 'Data Labels'.
WDYM you don't have a range in Y axis? Can you share a screenshot
@SpartaBI thanks for the screenshot. Unfortunately both settings aren't visible for me, see the screenshots. The value field/setting isn't visible at all.
Do you have any idea what the cause might be that they aren't visible for me? And how I can fix that?
@freek_spithoven yes, either you are using an older version of PBI desktop and/or you didn't opt in to the new format pane preview, which is about to be GA, so you need to do it sooner than later. Make sure you have the latest version of PBI and toggle on the new format pane in the options -> settings -> preview features
@SpartaBI I've updated the version to the most current one, however these settings are still not available to me, see screenshot. Do you have any idea what might be the issue?
@SpartaBI did you see the message I sent to you last week?
Hopefully you have an idea!
@freek_spithoven hey apologies, missed you previous message 🙂
Can you maybe share your file?
