How to select different dates

Hi all,

I want to be able to work in an overview with 2 different dates.
How should I do that if not all tables respond to the different dates?

i mean that i will select differents dates and different ID nr in the view.

Maybe it has a special name so I can't figure out how it works?

Hi @Frixel ,

I'm not sure if I've understood your problem correctly, I'll elaborate on my solution.
First, let me show you my test data:

I created two identical slicers based on the 'Date modified' column:

Then I created two table visuals:

Select the slicer on the left, click 'Format', click 'Edit interactions', disable the table and slicer on the right, and no operation is required on the left:

Then follow the same steps, select the slicer on the right, click 'Format', click 'Edit interactions', disable the table and slicer on the left, and no operation is required on the right:

The final result is shown in the following figure:

Hi @Anonymous

Thank you, I have now set it up this way and it works perfectly

I recommend having two different date filters as well as an independant calendar within your tables such as a fiscal calendar . So filter one: Date Entered , Filter two : Date modified.

@egm_2013

I don't quite understand that(sorry). I only have one date column in my table

Yes to select different elements from visuals simultaneously you need to press Ctrl+click. Alternatively you can change the first two date tables to slicers.

instead of having the date values in a table, can you put them in a filter visual and select the data range using the date picker or slider?

date picker is not a standard visual?

Based on the other images you posted, it appears you may need to set up a proper Date table in your model and create the relationship with your fact table first.

If it is a proper date field then Power BI will recognize it, so when you add the field to the slicer it should appear like this, by default:

oke, but i will select 2 different dates because there are then 2 diffents of outcomes

Perhaps I misunderstood. I was under the impression you were looking to select the date range, i.e., Begin Date and End Date?

No, i will select on both date`s visuals checks a date to compate the outcomes in the tables

Hello,

I think what you want to check is the "Edit interactions" functionality in the Format tab here:

JoBI_0-1699457335582.png

This way you can cancel out the interaction from first table to the other ones etc.

Hope this helps

Hi @JoBI

Thanks =, Yes that is what i am looking for 👍

But now i have the problem that i can`t select two different dates because then the other dat is then going back to default. I hope you know what i mean?

When i click on the date in yellow the date from table 1 is going to default.
