How to select all the columns at once

Hi,

I'm new on Power BI  and I'm trying to change the type of datas from "text" to "number".

Here are the steps that I follow:

1. Change all the points (.) in commas (,)

2. Change the datas' type from "text" to "decimal"

The problem is that when I change the data source, the columns names change and i have to change manually the columns' names to match the ones that are in the new database.

e.g.:

#"Valeur remplacée" = Table.ReplaceValue(#"Valeur remplacée2",".",",",Replacer.ReplaceText,{"Floor Area (m²) (Real)", "AE #1 Max. Flow (ac/hr) (Real)", "AE #1 Max. Flow (l/s) (Real)", "AE #1 Max. Flow (l/(s·m²)) (Real)", "AE #1 Max. Flow (l/s/person) (Real)", "AE #2 Max. Flow (ac/hr) (Real)", "AE #2 Max. Flow (l/s) (Real)", "AE #2 Max. Flow (l/(s·m²)) (Real)", "AE #2 Max. Flow (l/s/person) (Real)", "Gain 1 Max. Sensible Gain (W/m²) (Real)", "Gain 1 Max. Sensible Gain (W) (Real)"}),

If the new database doesn't contain the column "Floor Area (m²) (Real)", I can't execute the step "#Valeur remplacée"

The only solution that can help me in to select all the table instead of a list of columns.

Can somebody help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

Perhaps try getting rid of the Promoted Headers step and just deal with the default names of the columns? Then, promote the headers at the very end.

Hi @Anonymous,

Greg could have the best solution. Since the column names are changed, I, the human, don't know which column is which one if I have your data. Power BI couldn't know it either.

Best Regards,
Dale

Thanks a lot. I didn't notice that promoting headers will automatically detect the data type if they are in a common form.

Thanks again!
