Hi @toplisek ,

Power BI’s built-in search box only finds fields and tables—it won’t search actual data values. To search records across multiple fields, use Smart Filter Pro by OKViz. It’s a custom visual that lets you create a single search box to filter values across several columns like CustomerName, ProductID, and Region.

Drop it onto your canvas, add your fields, switch to Filter mode, and it supports wildcards, case-insensitive text, and logic like OR, AND, and even numeric filters. It’s the closest thing to a proper Ctrl+F for Power BI datasets—and far more powerful than native slicers or DAX workarounds.

Best regards,

hi @toplisek

The search box in the Fields pane only searches for columns and tables that are visible in the Report view. To search for specific values within those tables or columns, use the Filter pane or Slicers, but keep in mind that these can only search within the columns you’ve added to them. Power BI doesn’t provide a universal search that searches across the entire model.

TIP: Q&A can sometimes help you find specific records. To access it, double-click a blank area on the canvas or use the Insert tab.
