I have a data set that contains 2016 and 2017 data, but I want to send a report to users only for 2017 data.
How can I do this in Power BI desktop? how can I restrict the data only for 2017 in the Power BI desktop and remove the 2016 data?

Hi @ta5656 ,
Sorry for reply late, if you want to remove it permanently, then you can use the first or second solution.
If you filter all 2016 data in Power Query Editor, then user won't see 2016 data, you can try it.
Thanks.

Hi @ta5656 ,
Of course you can, too many method to do that, for example
1.you can remove 2016 data when you "get data"
2.you can remove 2016 data in power query editor after you load full data, just filtering all 2017 data will be fine.
3.you can add a filter in the front-end, for example, add a year filter in page level, and only select 2017, then user will only see 2017 data.
Thanks

Thanks for your reply @Anonymous, but if the user removes filters either on page level or Power query editor he will see the 2016 data. I want to remove 2016 data permanently.
