Hi,
I need to change the datasource for an exisitng report. One excel file with another which have exactly the same columns/fields etc.
Can this be done by going into the query editor, and chaning the file name at the 'source' in applied steps?
I need the visuals to isntantly pickup the fields again so they stay populated with minimal manual effort of dragging and dropping.
Is this possible?
Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,
1. You can publish the Desktop file to the Service again.
2. If you change the source file name, you can refresh from the Service. Nothing else needs to be changed.
Best Regards,
Dale
Hey @Anonymous
Yep, you are correct. Changing the file name in Source will change the data without making you drag all of the columns back on.
Thanks,
Parker
Thanks! Do you know if something similar can be done with a dashboard on the power bi website?
So the tiles are still in place, they just update with the new dataset?
