Hi folks,
if we assume we handle a big query with tons of rows and columns, a lot of merging and appending with other tables (queries and flat files e.g.), is there a way to "prevent" the connected tables (i.e. data tables, not DIM tables), from beeing calculated in realtime?
I know the option of disable load and prevent refresh, but is there a way to develop first, build a kind of "backlog" and then let calculate everything in one go?
2nd, but same topic, if we do want to create a flatfilw with masterdata from a big table, best way to do that?
Tried with reference, but this did not work too good....
Thanks and regards

Hi @Anonymous ,
sorry for that. I will try to make it more simple, and sorry for the "Accepted as solution" -> missclick.
So, if I have multiple queries that interact with each other, we have to wait sometimes for around one hour if everything is calculated due to these dependencies between tables.
Example:
One big table, i used a reference to create a Masterdata set for units and prodcuts e.g., only 2 columns out of the original 120 columns and millions of rows.
But now, every time the big table is refreshed, the referenced table is as well (we got rid of all the columns from the original table not needed in a 2nd step in the referenced table).
So is there a way to "disconnect" the referenced table e.g. from beeing updated all the time and just load it when we did some development on the original, big table? So we just have to wait for that table and not a 2nd one.
If you now imagine we have around 10 tables, one step of development takes ages...thats the issue.
Let me know if its clearer now, otherwise I can provide even more details.
Thanks for the help!
