Hi All,
Is there a method by which it's possible to find columns/fields/tables in a model that are not in use by any visuals or DAX expressions?
I have a large model, built over time, and i'm looking to strip back anything not in use.
Thanks in Advance.
did you find a solution to this? I'm looking at doing something similar - I need to work out which fields are not in use across many reports in many workspaces.

Hi All,
I had the problem a few times and created a simple web site to analyze a PBIX file and find unused fields

Has anyone used this tool..? Is it secure enough..?
Thanks, B
Hello,
There is a tool called Power BI Helper which does this. It was built by http://radacad.com.

Power BI Helper can tell you the tables not in use, but does not tell you the individual fields. A far as I am aware there is no tool that can do this.
Hi Neil
I think you could try to use the Dax Studio which supports DMV.
In here you can find all columns, measures and so on and maybe work around a solution to discover the columns, not used in any measures.
Currently I don't believe that you can locate the used columns in the visuals.
DMV??
Have installed DAX studio but can't see how it can tell me which columns are in use or not...
