How to efficiently store large dataset

Hi, I currently use MS excel to store and update my dataset.

However as I get new data, I update my spreadsheet and then refresh my Power BI visuals to reflect the new set of data.

However, I'm noticing that excel isn't the best place to store my data. What are some alternative (free) platform I can use to store my data?

Note, my new dataset all come in CSV files with the appropriate headers.

Power BI works great with csv files and can automatically combine them. You can need to store them all in the same place and use the Combine & Transform functionality. It can be a local or network file storage, SharePoint, etc.

I'm trying to move away from excel. Is there alternative to MS excel?

I don't have in mind about a free place to store your data other than Excel sheets, but what you could do is that store the data in several sheets and combine then in Power Bi / Power Query, using the append function which is like the union join in SQl and then you load the data in Power BI as a one dataset.
