How to design model to filter Fact tables data using common dimensions in both ways

Capture.PNG

I am trying to build model, such that I should able to filter customer and products from fact data as well as dimensions. I was unable to assign bi directional relationship. hence I end up with unable to filter based on report visual data on slicers. Is there a way to filter slicers (taken from dimension) and report visual data (from fact tables) in both way?

Hi @syam_v,

Did you get any error?

Please give me more details about your requirement.

I am getting the following error when I tried to make the relationship bi directional. Without this relationship I cannot filter in both ways. Right now only one way filtering is happing. My requirement is to filter on both ways.Capture.PNG

Got it.

I think FACT2 table already has a bi-directional filter with DIM_PROD. So either you have to change the relationship to single or deactivate.

Here is the whitepaper for more details:

I understand what you are saying. If I remove the bidirectional relationship, I cannot slice the data on product name in both directions. This is the problem I am facing, I need a work around to address this. Do you have any suggestions?

It would be great fi share sample pbix file and notes of what is your requirement
