How to define Bar width in charts?

Hi,

I've a below senario, when I have less data then automatically the bar width is becoming big. But I want to make it uniform for entire page (where I have used the Bar Charts). How to set permanent bar size for all the charts?  irrespective of the chart size.

Hi Murali,

If I'm correct this is because you are using columns in your visual that are formatted as text values (such as quarter and monthname). These cannot be plotted as a continuous type because they are seperate categories, so it will automatically switch to a "category" type. It is possible to use the "continious" type for values such as years because they are numerical. So If you would drill up to your year level you should see the selectionbox appear.

However, for your current case it is ok that it doesn't show the box since it has already automaticallt switched your visual to "categorical". As you can see in your screenshot the bar width option is now avaliable for your visual.

Best regards,

Tim

Hi Murali,

You can find this option under the X-axis in the formatting pane for the visual. Do keep in mind that you will have to set the X-axis type to "Categorical" to enable this feature. Below you'' find a reference.

Hi,

Thanks for you reply,

From the Day one I'm not getting that Categorial Option in my X-Axis format settings. Don't know why.

Hi,

Yes, it is correct. I've below options to set the settings but I need to maintain same BAR width. How to do that here. Thanks for the support so far.
