I downlowded PowerBi so I can start learning it to help get a job. I am not employed and I am not in school. I do not have a current work or school email account. PowerBi desktop will not let me sign in or buy 10/month access unless I provide a work or school email. I have also tried logging in to my personal outlook.com email address in a browser and going to the powerbi website and try to buy access and it will only let me if I put in a company name. I do not want to lie and put in a fake company. So how am I suppossed to get access to powerbi so I can learn, get certified, and get a job?
Hi @Justaregularguy ,
Power BI requires that you use a work or school email address. You can't sign up or purchase using email addresses provided by consumer email services or telecommunication providers. According to your description, you don't have a work or school account, so you can sign up for Power BI with a new Microsoft 365 Trial. You can use Power BI even after the Microsoft 365 trial expires.
For detailed registration steps, you can refer to the following official documentation,

I already have a microsoft 365 individual license for years. When I try to buy power bi with that account it requires I put in a business name. I do not have a business and it will not let me put in "NA". It wants a real business. My point is microsoft should not require a fake business name. I should not have to lie and they should not want to collect BS data. I think I don't even need an account. After playing with power bi desktop, I don't think I even need to sign in. So, at this point I just wish microsoft made it clearer to people starting with power bi for self-led education that you do not need to sign in at all. (below is sign up that requires a business name -for an individual who has no business...)
