Hi,
I'm using Excel to get data from TFS via built-query feature which is support by TFS. I'm not really understand Database structure of TFS but i can get data base on this feature.
the question is: how can i display data which is retrieved by TFS on Power BI
Hi hellgoingon,
There is Visual Studio content pack available for Power BI, for on premise TFS, currently this is not available in Power BI, which has been submitted as an idea:
Provide Power BI content pack support for on premise TFS
The response from the Team Service Product group is as follows:
"
We have started work implementing a PowerBI model template including a set of example reports. The template can be used against the new Analytics Service instead of the REST service used by the content pack. The template and Analytics Service will be fully supported by TFS (On-Prem) and VSTS (Hosted) deployments. Our current plan is to deliver this functionality in the first half of next calendar year.
"
So currently, please take use of Excel to generate the report, then imported the Excel into Power BI, as a temporarily workaround.
Regards
@hellgoingon I would suggest use Excel as your data source to import TFS data ie use Excel to retrieve TFS data and then import that data into pbi from Excel.
