Hey,
I have a powerbi pro account from my employer test@mycompany.com.
Now my client has given me access to his tenant as an external guest user.
I can login into the powerBI service with my account test@mycompany.com and i can see the clients workspaces that he has assigned me to. I had logged in with
https://app.powerbi.com/home?ctid=xxxxx
ctid being my client's tenant id.
Now I want to develop a report and publish into the clients workspace. So i bring up PowerBI desktop. How do i choose this client tenant when i login into PowerBI desktop ?
I am stuck on this. looking for some assistance here please.
thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
I could get this to work the following:
Signout from PBI desktop and then signin
click Continue.
choose Signin options. then choose Sign in to an Org.
then enter the domain of the tenancy you want to switch to. Lastly enter your account to login.
This worked for me. Hopefully this helps someone!!

been asking GROK about this, the workaround is so complicated. thanks to this one, i get to work in my client's tenant.
You are the real MVP
In case anybody else wonders what to put as the domain, just go with the string after the @ in the target tenant accounts, that is domain.onmicrosoft.com
The trick has to be done everytime you open a report or reopen the entire application, PBI Desktop doesn't retain the setting and just opens on the actual tenant of the account.
