How to change size of context menu

Very new to Power Bi, but have managed to pull something together.  One of the analytics is the decomposition tree, and one of my testers (who I believe has never used Power Bi before) gets a very short context menu in which to select the next level of decomposition  and can only see 2 rows  - but is able to scroll up and down the list (while I see a much longer list.  I don't believe I've changed anything to limit the size of the menu, but want to check if this is such a thing you can alter in Power Bi, or if this is something outside of Power Bi that needs to be resolved (have been reading about the Registry Editor)

Hi @P_T

In Power BI, the size of the context menu (such as the one in the Decomposition Tree visual) is not directly adjustable through Power BI itself. The menu size is typically governed by display settings such as screen resolution, scaling, and zoom, rather than a specific Power BI setting.

Here are some common reasons and potential solutions for the issue your tester is facing:

1. Display Scaling and Resolution Settings:
If your tester has display scaling enabled (e.g., making text and apps larger in Windows settings), this could reduce the visible area of dropdowns or menus within Power BI. You can adjust this by:

Right-clicking the desktop and selecting Display settings.
Adjust the Scale and layout percentage under Change the size of text, apps, and other items. Set it to 100% or a lower value to see if that improves the visibility of the context menu.
2. Browser or App Zoom Levels:
If they are using Power BI in a web browser, they might have the zoom level set too high.

Press Ctrl+0 to reset the zoom level to default or Ctrl and minus (-) to zoom out.
In the Power BI Desktop application, you can adjust the zoom by:

View > Page View options to fit or adjust the size of the page.
3. Windows Settings:
The size of context menus can sometimes be affected by settings in the Registry Editor for Windows. While this involves more advanced changes and isn't recommended for Power BI novices, it may be worth checking whether the menu size is constrained by default system settings.

Open the Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Windows search bar.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics and check the MenuHeight and MenuWidth values. If they've been altered, you could reset them to defaults.
4. External Monitors or Display Settings:
If they are using an external monitor, differences in DPI (dots per inch) between monitors can cause context menus to appear differently sized.

Check if they are using a second screen and try adjusting the resolution on each monitor to match.
5. Power BI Version or Updates:
Ensure that both you and your tester are using the latest version of Power BI. Sometimes bugs or inconsistencies in visuals like the Decomposition Tree get fixed in updates.

Hi @P_T ,

This may depend on the screen scale. You can change this (Windows): System -> Display -> Scale.

I would also suggest using Focus Mode for the visualization, which allows you to enlarge the area where the visualization is displayed.
