How to change measures in matrix total from average to sum

Hi,

I created a measure (which is a simple division of data from two linked tables). In a matrix with months as columns, the default yearly total is average. I need to change it to 'SUM'.

For data directly from a data table, I can usually right click on the value field and select different ways of aggregation. But for created measures, this function is not available. Please could you help me out.

Hi, @Anonymous 

You can only choose the aggregation type in visulization panel for columns.

You can use the SUMX function to create the measure to get the total.

Thanks for the replies.

Re the first option -- I don't have any option of selecting aggregate methods when right or left click on the 'Values' field. That's why I asked this question. If it is a column field directly from a table, then I can select different aggregate methods. But my data here is a calculated measure, right click on the 'Values' field only gives a list of "Remove field, rename, move to, conditional formatting, show value as, new quick measure'. Hence my current connundrum.

In another much bigger model I built some time ago, the yearly total column as row total came out default as SUM, so I never thought much about it. Or perhaps I did do something about it at that time, but now I just couldn't find my way back in. It was built quite a while ago!

I really need to get this sorted.
