How to change column format from text to numerical?

Hi,   In POWER BI, when I pull the data directly from excel certain numerical columns come by defualt with Summation symbol but some are not (they appear probably as text).   For those, which are...

    Very easy, choose the field and then under the ribbon moddeling you can choose the data type.

    Thanks for your reply.

     

    Actually, intially the data type options was greyed out for me, but it works now and this helped to change the format as per requirement.
