How to build a graph using given data?

New to PowerBI here be kind. I have a simle table with date on one cilumn and some values on another column, I need to plot a simple line graph. However PowerBI does not allow me to do so, it will only allow me to plot a count, average, max, min etc but never the actual data. How do I do this?

Hi @Kampua ,

After reviewing your file, the data type settings are correct. In the Values field, select the aggregate type as Sum as shown below. Please find the details in the attachment.

Work with aggregates (sum, average, and so on) in Power BI

Option to choose "Don't Summarize" Missing. "Do not summarize" is not honored.

In a table, the column appears Do not summarize however for non-summary charts

Best Regards

Hi @Kampua

Could you please click on your chart with your columns added and send a picture of your visualisation pane, showing all of the fields you have used.

Hi @Kampua

Could you please check that the data type is set to Date in the Data tab. See screenshots below.

Click on data table -> Click on your date column -> check data type

Hi @Kampua

If you click on your line chart, in the visualisation pane, click the drop down arrow next to Planned Quota in the Y-Axis and is there and option called don't summarise?

If not could you also check that your planned quota column is of the data type Whole Number.

There is no "don't summarise" option,

Yes it is whole number.

Hi @Kampua

Would it be possible for you to send your PBIX file without any sensitive data?

I am not able to send the file.

Hi @Kampua

To send the file here, you would need to upload it to the cloud either Google Drive or Dropbox works. Then you can copy the link and post it here. Would this be possible?
