Hello,
I would like to add today to a date slicer for the between slicer setting. I have a set day say 1/1/2023 and set the last date to be today instead of static date selection.
Is that possible to do in power BI? for example in the picture below instead of 2/28/2024, the selection would be today.
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can create a calculated column with the following code:
Date Range =
VAR _Start = [Date]
VAR _End = TODAY()
RETURN [Date] >= _Start && [Date] <= _End
Then add this column as a filter on the visual and set the filter to True
Hi @powerbisupcl ,
Have you tried using any custom visual for Date slicing? because belive me they are life savers when it comes about functionality and features.
I am talking about custom visual named Date Picker by Powerviz. Not just Today, it provides a lot of presets which are really useful with little to no need to write dax that too with custom / in built themes.
I think you should check them out.
Here is a link if you want to check this visual - https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/powerbivisuals/truvizinc1674781244292.date-picker-by-p... (I believe they offer a free version too)
You can create a calculated column with the following code:
Date Range =
VAR _Start = [Date]
VAR _End = TODAY()
RETURN [Date] >= _Start && [Date] <= _End
Then add this column as a filter on the visual and set the filter to True
