Hi there,
I have a PowerBi dataset which is feeding a report in my Web Browser but I have created a new column in my backing excel which is not appearing in the Fields list of my Report. I have tried to access the data in the PowerBI Desktop App but I cannot use the Transform Data button either to use Power Query. Can anyone help me to add this new data to my report?

Hi , @Anonymous
Based on your description, a new column of fields has been added to your data source, and you use Power BI Desktop to connect datasets that you published on the Power BI Service. Right?
First of all, Power BI Desktop connects datasets, the default is to use the Live Connection mode, LC mode does not have the power Query function below.
For more information , you can refer to :
Connect to datasets in the Power BI service from Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Second, if your data source schema changes, you can download the .pbix file, refresh it on Desktop, and republish it to the Power BI Service. The schema refresh because the data source is not recognized on the Power BI Service.

@Anonymous Sounds like you have a live connection to the dataset. You need to go into the Service, find the dataset and download the PBIX for it. Then you can transform the data model and republish.
