How to add Smart Narrative manually ?
Hi guys,
Having to use Power BI Desktop version August 2020 (last year), can I manually import some of the visual from newer version ? Like the Smart Narratives which I would like to try out and use it in my report.
I'm looking from "Get more visual" but cannot find that visual.

I agree with parry2k's opinion, because Smart narrative is a default visual, so it is not available from the Microsoft AppSource. But these visuals are available in the visualization pane of both Power BI Desktop and Power BI service. As a workaround, you can create Smart narrative on Service if you don't want to update your desktop version.

admin_xlsior you cannot add stock visuals from the app store, the only way is to upgrade to the latest version.

I see. Well, guess I can't use it then, since I really cannot use the newer version. Maybe I will try that Phrazor, this is free, right ? and is it "safe", cause I didn't see a recommendation in the store.

v-xiaotang I don't understand how your reply is different than mine except for a link. What is the point of answering the same reply? Can you explain the reasoning behind it?

The reason I add them is I want to explain why Smart narrative can't be added from App Source. Also, I provide another workaround if user don't want to upgrade Desktop.
