Hi All,
We have some Row level security applied to roles, we want to test it using some test ids so that we don't have ask real time users to validate it.
Is there any way we can do this in Service or Desktop ?
Regards,
Akash
In the Desktop, go to the Modeling tab in the ribbon and in the Security section, choose "View as Roles"
If I do the data model in SSDT, deploy it to SSAS and do a live query in Power BI Desktop, the View as feature is disabled.
And I don't see this feature in Service.
Is there any other way to validate it ?
Hi @akj2784,
We are not able to define roles within Power BI Desktop for Analysis Services live connections. We need to implement RLS within on-premises Analysis Services models outside of Power BI.

Agree. My question was more on the validation part.
I have applied RLS in the SSDT, deployed it to SSAS.
Now being a developer how would I test whether my implementation is correct or not. Basically Unit Testing of the code.
Can I impersonate my id to someone else and check the data ?
Or what is the way to validate such scenario.
Regards,
Akash
Hi @akj2784,
Could you see the Test as a role option on service?
