Hi Community,
I’m working on a Power BI dashboard and I’m looking to add a single date picker (not a range) that allows users to select just one specific date. This selected date should then filter the visuals on the page accordingly.
Could anyone guide me on how to implement this? Is there a built-in visual or a custom approach that works best for this requirement?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @Kanchan2403 I usually use a slicer and enable the "Single Select" option to allow users to pick a single date easily. Drag the date field into the slicer, format it as a dropdown or list, and ensure cross-filtering is enabled for the visuals. If you want a more customized look, explore custom visuals like the Date Picker from the Power BI marketplace.

Hi @Kanchan2403 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community.
As @Akash_Varuna mentioned, you can use the built-in slicer visual for this purpose. Just drag your date field into the slicer, set it to "Single Select" mode, and pick either a list or dropdown layout depending on your design needs. This way, only one date can be selected at a time, filtering the visuals on the report page accordingly.
If you want a more customized user experience, especially for published reports, you might try custom visuals like the "Date Picker" from Power BI AppSource, which provides an interactive calendar interface. Alternatively, for scenarios requiring dynamic or rolling dates (such as always displaying data for yesterday), the relative date slicer could be helpful.
Hope this helps. Please reach out for further assistance.
