First, upload your csv file into power bi services.

  1. In the left navigation pane, select a workspace where you want to add the data (e.g., My Workspace or a shared workspace).
  2. Click the + New button at the top right and select Upload a file.
  3. Choose the file type: CSV
  4. Select the file and click Open.
  5. Power BI Service will process the file and create a dataset.
Then, open your report builder and

Add a Power BI Dataset Connection

  1. In the left Report Data pane:
    • Right-click Data Sources and select Add Power BI Dataset Connection.
  2. A window will appear asking you to Sign in to Power BI Service:
    • Enter your Power BI credentials.
  3. Once signed in, you will see a list of workspaces containing published datasets.

Select the Dataset

  1. Navigate to the workspace where the desired dataset is located.
  2. Select the specific dataset you want to connect to, and click OK.
    • This creates a connection to the dataset and adds it to the Data Sources section.

Add a Dataset in the Report

  1. In the Report Data pane, right-click Datasets and choose Add Dataset.

Hi @Dhruv_29,

Thanks for connecting with the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

I trust the @olgad response is accurate and will address your issue.

In addition to that if you want to import data directly to power BI report Builder you can split the data into smaller chunks and import them, then you can be able to generate the paginated reports successfully.
If you have any further questions or updates regarding your issue, feel free to ask, and we will look into that.

Please Accept as solution If this post clears your issue and a Kudos would be appreciated.

Best Regards,
Sahasra.

Instead of importing the CSV directly into Power BI Report Builder:

  • Load the data into a Power BI Dataset:

    • Use Power BI Desktop to create a dataset from your CSV file. Load and transform the data as needed, and publish it to the Power BI Service.
    • Connect Power BI Report Builder to the published dataset, reducing the resource load on your local machine.
