How do I add a background to a card?

In an effort to make the report less "excel" and more "infographics" I'd like to put some numbers on the dashboard inside circles, for example.

I found someone who was using single value pie charts that would change colour based on a formula and the numbers were overlaid on the pie chart using cards.

The problem with using multiple visualisations to achieve the effect is that the mobile view of the dashboard enforces a snap to grid and rejects attempts to overlay visuals.

How have you achieved this?

Hi @Ormesome,

In that case, I'm afraid this requirement cannot be achieved right now.

Hi @Ormesome,

What is your desired output? Could you provide an image to illusrate what is "using single value pie charts that would change colour based on a formula and the numbers were overlaid on the pie chart using cards."?

Based on my understanding, you overlaid a pie chart with card visual like below, right?

Currently, we can set the background color for card visual under Format tab.

That's exactly what I'm trying to achieve.

It works great in the standard dashboard but you can't do it in the phone layout.

Hi @Ormesome,

Yes. It is not possible to overlay two visuals in Phone layout. But why don't you directly set the background color for card visual?

The reason I'm not setting the background is because this will make a rectangular coloured box with a number in it. This does not produce a circle with a number in it, which is what I'm trying to achieve.

I've used the Infographic Designer visualisation. It has allowed me to use various shapes and colours.
