Hello
When I display the Count of the lines of a filtered table, it shows e.g. 1000.
When I export that filtered table, the rows in the csv are 950.
When I display the Distinct Count of the lines of the filtered table, it does 950.
Why it does that?
If the Distinct Count is lower than the Real Count, then why when I export the data, it exports the Distinct Count and not the Real Count? The real data of the filtered table should have row number the Real Count, not the Distinct Count.
Also, how can I filter the duplicates easily for verification?
Thanks!
Hi @Anonymous
Could you show examples, like some screenshots or sample data files?
Do you export data in Power BI Desktop or Power BI Service?
Best Regards
Maggie
Hi, unfortunately I cannot share any of the data or screenshots as these are confidential and the files are very big.
What exactly do you need as sample?
I have a table displaying various fields.
The first field of the table is names of clients, the second is sales amounts, dates, etc.
The first field is 'Dont summarise' and 'Show items with no data'. I am not sure what the latter is, but if i do not enable it, the count of the client names is different than the ones showing.
Then, I have a visual that is Count of Clients and it is Count or Distinct Count. The Distinct Count displays 3k and the normal Count 3.5k.
I double checked and there is only one row that has the client name with empty characters (spaces etc) and all the other lines have a name. So I am not sure where the 0.5k difference comes from.
When I put a filter on the table and then click to export the data, the number of rows in the csv is the number displayed in the Distinct Count and not the Normal Count.
What are the meanings of 'dont summarise', 'distinct count' and 'show items with no data' ?
