How can I make the display order of the slicer consistent with the order in my table?

Dear,

I urgently need help. May I ask how I can make the display order of the slicer consistent with the order in my table?

The following is the order of my slicer and matrix table, which is not the order I want;

Here is the order of my tables, the one I want to present;

Thank you very much;

Hi @Yumikang ,

To make your slicer display in the same order as your table in Power BI:

  1. Go to Data view.

  2. Select the column you want to sort.

  3. In the Column Tools tab, click "Sort by Column."

  4. Choose the column with your desired order (like a numeric order column).

  5. Your slicer and table will now follow that custom order.

Thank you for your reply; My slicer is now displayed in order; But the titles in my matrix are not displayed in the desired order;I set the order of the matrix according to the sorting, but every time I switch the blue bookmark, the row title order of the matrix changes back to its original order;

How can I ensure that the order of the row headings in the matrix is consistent with the order I want when I switch bookmarks?

Hi @Yumikang

If you're using the same table for both your slicer and your matrix, and you’ve sorted the region column correctly in Data view using the numeric Sort Order column shown in your screenshot – then the slicer should respect that order.

To make sure it's working:

  1. Go to Data view.

  2. Select the Areacolumn.

  3. Click on Sort by column and choose the numeric column that defines the correct order (likely the first column in your screenshot).

  4. Make sure that both the matrix and the slicer are using the same Area column from the same table.

If the slicer still doesn't follow the order, something might have been missed in one of the steps above.

If you can share the file, it will be easier to pinpoint the exact issue.

The pbix with the example is attached

Hi @Yumikang

In the data view please click on your region column and sort by the Sort Order you have next to it:
