How can I connect to different ODBC sources

Hello I currently have 3 virtual machines which each has a different database (ODBC) as I can connect to dada one of them from power bi dekstop.

NOTE: The datagateway of each one is already in the power bi service.

Thanks.

Hi @aerazo19 ,

According to your description, configuring multiple odbc data sources follows the same steps, and there are 4 steps to complete the process:

  1. Install the driver for the data source and configure the ODBC data source
  2. Connect to the ODBC source from Power BI Desktop
  3. Add the data source to the Power BI gateway
  4. Publish the report to the Power BI service and map the data source to the gateway

For more details, read below blog:

REFRESHING ODBC DATASOURCE ON POWER BI SERVICE - Ruki's Blog (rukiatu.com)

For odbc data sources from the virtual machine, you need to modify the corresponding path information. Refer to the similar solution below.

Solved: Access data on Virtual Machine - Microsoft Power BI Community

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and related operation screenshoots. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry

@aerazo19 , if the connection details are different, power bi should allow you to create more than one ODBC connections
