Hi All,
I want to access OneDrive personal via power bi desktop and I also want to pick several files with same pbix file how can I do it.
Simply I want to save my laptop memory. I want 2 files i.e, for analytics purpose one for the 2016 year and one for the 2017 year.
how can I add for those file for analytics purpose or how can I call both of them in power bi desktop for same PBIX fille.
Regards,
Arvind
Is that Excel file?
If this file doesn't contain a data model, you just need to open another connection to second file as data source.
If each file has its own data model (workbook contents), you can only import one file into Power BI Desktop. One .pbix file can only include one data model.

Hi @v-sihou-msft,
Actually I have one report in excel file called AS Detail Call Report So I have downloaded excel file of Detail Call Report on the date of 13th July and move into OneDrive and from there I picked that file into power BI desktop and publish it on Power bi service and placed refresh time of 12 noon and now the time is 11 AM . Now I am going to put another Detail Call Report on the date of 14th July into OneDrive which include the same file where Detail Call Report of 13th July was located that file name is Arvind. So Now How can I call both the excel file or that folder i.e, Arvind into the Power BI Desktop with the same PBIX.
Please help me out with this.
Regards,
Arvind
Hi @v-sihou-msft,
I am still struggling with the same fellow can you please provide me any details or solution for this.
Thanks and Regards,
Arvind
I'm with you @arvindyadav. Here are the steps I have followed so far:
But how can I point my published dataset to the OneDrive personal data source?
What I have been able to do is use "Get Data" on powerbi.com to connect to OneDrive. That works fine, but I would expect to see a similar option in Power BI Desktop. However, the only online services I see are SharePoint list and Exchange online?
The best I can tell, the workflow they want you to follow is this:
I'm not sure that connecting live will always give you full-featured experience, but I don't see any alternative at this point. I would like it if, in the Power BI Desktop tool, you could connect to files in OneDrive.
Edit: I did find this idea on the ideas board and voted it up - now it has 4!
