Hi everybody,
I had 2 simple questions to ask about things that I am trying to do with Power BI.
1st question : I would like to display the values in percentage in my histogram.
Even if I indicate in my request that the values are in percentage, it stills display them as numbers in the report.
2nd question : I would like to add to my Combo Charts a line representing a specific values in my tables. So far I have only succeeded in adding a constant line (value entered with keyboard).
Solved! Go to Solution.
Sorry for the late answer.
With a bit of manipulation, I have understood that I needed to gather all the points in the same table to be able to display a line.
Also, we cannot add constant or average line to a combined line and column visualization so I separated them in two visualizations.
Thanks again for your help,
Adnan
Hi @Anonymous ,
For your first issue, could you have checked the Percent of grand total option?
For your second issue, what is your desired result? What could you mean about "a specific values in my tables"?
Regards,
Daniel He
Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your answer.
Concerning the first issue, I have succeeded in putting the values in percentage in my report.
In fact, they were in percentage in my request so I didn't understand why they were not in the report.
I found out that I had to put them in percentage also in the data section of my report.
What I wanted is not the percent of grand total because I don't have any grand total (it's just that my values are ratios and I needed them to display in percentage).
For the second issue, I have a "Line and clustered column" visualization and I would like to add 2 lines :
- The First line is a constant line : a line that represents the value 5% for example;
- The Second line is also constant but it should represent the average of the values of a column in one of my tables (It's not a value that I want to enter with keyboard).
I know that I can do it with Analytics but I don't have access to it with my vizualization.
Also, even if I had it, for the second line, I would like to add it (the average) without displaying the values of the column.
I hope it was clear. I would also be an acceptable alternative for me to swith from a clustered chart to a simple chart if that can enable me to have Analytics but I didn't see this option in the visualizations section.
Finally, 2 other questions, more simple intuitive I think, have arised since yesterday.
First : How can I connect the points to actually display a line (I thought It was automatic but it seems not to be) ?
Second : All the values in my histogram come from different tables (that come themselves from different Excel files, that's why I have chosen Power BI), but they represent the same thing.
As a consequence, I have a quite repetitive legend as you can see above. Would you have a solution to resolve this issue ?
Thank you for your consideration.
Adnan
Hi @Anonymous ,
Could you please offer your simple sample pbix file by uploading to OneDrive or Drop box and send the link here and post your desired result if possible? So I could test for you.
