Can anyone please tell me what the Values field in the Hierarchy Slicer is for?

One use of this Values field in Hierarchical Slicer is to Sort slicer list of values based on some ID or any numeric column. Similar to "Sort By Column" stuff. 

For example, If I would like to add list of Employee name in that Slicer but dont want to sort this as per Employee name instead of I would like to sort it by Employee ID so I can add this Employee ID in that values field.

Values are typically used to display the value in front of the field value
