Hello PBI experts,
Looking for a bit of advice here as to how to approach this project. My employer has requested I create an internal dashboard showing resource allocation per client with an emphasis on timezone matching from client to consultant to assure we have enough headcount per client per coverage option.
We have x amount of consultants (team leads, developers, and monitoring) and x amount of clients. Our consultants are spread throughout the world (US, India, Romania, etc) each working their respective hours/time zone (8-5).
Our clients also are spread throughout the world operating in their respective working hour time zones with varying coverage options (some are 24/7, others are 8/5, or 9/6)
I’d like to create a report that’ll show if our consultants are covering all the required hours per the coverage agreement (example: 8 hours a day 5 days a week, 24/7, etc.)
How would I approach this task correctly? Should my dimClient table have separate start time and end time of required working hours? Should the dimConsultant table have start hours and end hours per working days?
A lot of “up in the air questions here”, but looking to see how to approach this and what required fields we need to create this resource allocation / heat map themed report.
If anyone has any idea, insight, or experience with something like this, I’d love to hear it.
Thank you - all the best 🙏🏼
