Help with Matrix or similar visual

Hello,

  I am trying to display the dates of orders, the orders, and the items in the orders. I thought that the Matrix visual would give me what I need. I like the use of the '+' to drill down, but I am getting some unwanted filed values. Below is an image of my visual:

However the first row with the date, and the second row with the ordernumber have invalid values being displayed. How do I get rid of thoes values? Is there a better visual to use?

Hi @Anonymous ,

I have created a simple sample, please refer to it to see if it helps you.

Find  the column in the table that has a unique value or create an index column.

Then create 2 measures.

Measure = IF(HASONEVALUE('Table'[id]),MAX('Table'[TEXT]),BLANK())

iahf = IF(HASONEVALUE('Table'[id]),MAX('Table'[name]),BLANK())

If I have misunderstood your meaning, please provide more details with your desired output and pbix file without privacy information.

what values are incorrect can you please provide more detail?  what are you expecting vs what you have gotten?  give field names and an expected values as example vs what you currently have.

What I am expecting is the following:

-1/1/2019 5:34:56 AM <rest of the row is blank>

   -1421431 <rest of the row is blank>

        419005    <values>

        BWK535  <values>

instead, I keep getting, in bold type,

and I want this:

you have placed these columns in the values section where it is aggregating the data, so it only brings back the first product name.  move these fields to the rows and only place fields in the values section what you are wanting to aggregate, like counts, sum, first, last, min max... 

or you can change to table visual if you have no columns you want to aggregate

 Using a table visual, how do I get the + and the - symbols to appear so that I can expand and contract the amount of informaiton that is viewed?

under the row header section of your visualisation you will find the icons and you can switch them on there

I am not able to see a row header section for the table visual. Are you using a custom table visual?

ah ok that is the table visual, so wont see that.  if you need to use a hierarchy theen go back to using the matrix visual but make sure all your fields go under the rows otherwise you will have that problelm again of it choosing the first value, and only the sum of  postage amt under values
