Help with Filtering

Hi,

I have a table which has data for both Actuals and Budgets, the Budgets are split into 'versions', the actuals aren't. The data in the report needs to change based on a date selection to show actuals to a certain date, with budgets from that date, I have this part working.

I want to be able to filter the budget by the version, enforcing a selection if possible. So the user chooses a date, and can toggle the available budget versions, but I can't find a way to do this and apply it only to the budget and not the actuals.

This is the current measure:

Actuals by Period =
CALCULATE(SUM('P&L'[Value]),'P&L'[Source]="Actuals",filter(Dates,Dates[FY Start]>=[Actuals Start]&&Dates[Actuals End]<=[Actual End]))
+
CALCULATE(SUM('P&L'[Value]),'P&L'[Source]="Budget",FILTER(Dates,Dates[Actuals End]>=[Budget Start]&&'Dates'[Actuals End]<=[Budget End]))

I have the budget version available as a disassociated slicer, I'm thinking I need to be using either isfiltered, or similar but I'm not sure how to proceed from there.

ISFILTERED('Budget Version'[Version])

Does anyone have any hints as to how to progress?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @simonb,

Since I'm not so clear for your table structure, can you please share some dummy data and expected results with a similar data structure to help us clarify your scenario and test to coding formula?

So, you should be able to do that via ALL, ALLEXCEPT, KEEPFILTERS, REMOVEFILTERS, etc. Tough to be specific. Please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490
