Help with Changing date format: Expression.Error: The name 'FORMAT' wasn't recognized.

Hi everyone.

I have dates in the format 6/15/2021 for example, which are in text but I can't change the to date type until I replace the format to include zero's so its in this format 06/15/21. Another example date 4/5/2021 needs to be 04/05/2021. How can I have the format updated for this in the Query editor? Any help is much appreciated.

Yes I tried that first but it doesn't seem to work, I assumed it was because the format wasn't right to start with.
