Hi,
I have the following messy data model.
My main Fact Table is FACT_STOCK_W_COST and this should be filterable by DOOR (location), DATE and ITEMS. Secondly, the hierarchy for the SLICERS are COMPANY filtering BRAND, and then BRAND filtering DOOR. The slicer hierarchy works acceptably but the Fact Table ends up getting filtered correctly in terms of DATE, COMPANY and DOOR but not by BRAND.
As you can see above, the MANUAL_BRAND link to DIM_ITEMS is inactive which is why FACT_STOCK_W_COST does not get filtered by BRAND.
Any insights into this? Thanks.
@cgaralde So, if that relationship is active you would have 2 paths between your brand table and your main fact table. You either need to ensure there is only a single path between those 2 tables or use USERELATIONSHIP in a measure.
HI,
The error I get actually says that it would introduce ambiguity between COMPANIES_ONLY and FACT_STOCK_W_COST, which I don't understand. 😞
Please forgive me for silly questions as I am still trying to figure things out, but how is it different from the model below? COMPANIES_ONLY filters DIM_DOOR_DETAILS and at the same time MANUAL_BRAND filters DIM_DOOR_DETAILS.
Similarly, I want to filter FACT_STOCK_W_COST by COMPANIES_ONLY and by MANUAL_BRAND. I hope this makes sense. 🙂
