Help Required - IF statement

Hi there, need some help with an IF Statement - have watched some videos and followed the guidance but cannot get this to work...
Essentially i want to calculate the number of days for a promotion based on either the last promotion date or the hire date of an employee....

So basically IF 'Last Promo Date' is blank, then 'Promo/Effective Date' - 'Hire Date', else 'Promo/Effective Date' - 'Last Promo Date'

I tried adding a Conditional Column to get the structure right and then tried adding a Custom column but the formula doesnt work. Am i ding something wrong? Screenshot below....

Hi @Anonymous ,

There is no need to add brackets when using the IF function in PowerQuery, so please remove the "(" after the "if".

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Winniz

@Anonymous  ,

At a quick glance, it looks like you have neglected to close your first parenthesis "(".

Try closing your parenthesis ")" after "null".
