Dear all,
we've created a simple report in Powerbi desktop with Azure Analysis services as datasource. Firstly the report has been created in live connection mode and then we have convert the model to a local model (i.e direct query).
Without creating any kind of measure or column, we had to connect to our copy Azure analysis service cube which had the same structure, so nothing different with the previus cube. When we changed the cube (the connections, basically), after some seconds we got the following error:
Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'There are ambiguous paths between 'Material' and 'Material Classification': 'Material'->'Material Classification' and 'Material'->'Material Classification' '.
The stranger thing is that when i was working with the cube 1, everything was fine. Then, after changing the source i got this error. I assure you that both cubes have the same layout because we have deployed togheter starting from the same visual studio solution.
What is happening to our powerbi desktop file?
Best
Salvatore
Hi, thank you for reply! The tabular mode is published in a Azure analysis services instance. This fix is not applicable I guess 😞

Not sure if it is the same issue in this article, but they look similar. Hope it helps.
This fix is included in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017
Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 1
