Help Needed - Link Excel File in BOX to Power BI Desktop

Hi,

I am currently trying to link the excel file saved on my company's BOX server to Power BI to generate reports, and my collegues have provided me tutorials regarding creating a un-expirable shared link on box.com and paste it to Get Data --> Web channel on Power BI Desktop to link the tables from the excel file. This way seems pretty straight forward and it has been working for my other collegues, but when I am trying to link the excel file from box, my Power BI Desktop won't be able to recognize the tables for some reason, I am wondering if there is some setting in Power BI that I have to change in order to make this happen or if there is something else wrong?

HI @Anonymous,

If your link existed addition verification or redirect, power bi web connector can't access and get data from that link. 

Please use a root file link that direct points to the file itself without any other verification or redirection.  Then you can use excel connector to nest with web connector to recognize and get data.
