Having to log in and authenticate every time I open a PBIX file

Hi all

Since the Jun-23 update, every single time I open a PBIX file on our server I'm asked to log in with my credentials, then supply a code smsed to me and then select my sign in.

I typically work on 10/15 different reports each day and this has never been a requirement.  Additionally some times I'll be asked to repeat the whole process again for an open file when I publish as well.  This is highly frustrating and a massive waste of time.

I've tried reinstalling the latest version twice and it hasn;t made any difference and I recently cleaned out all of my exectubales for previous versions so I'm not able to roll back to the last versions which didn't have this issue.

Could really use an assist as I'm not keen to have to wait for the next update for this madness to be resolved.

@wjeanes , I have not faced this issue, but I saw a similar update. Please try this setting if this does work then log an issue at - https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

Go to File-> Options and settings -> Options -> Security Option -> and check : Use My Default browser( Visible after scroll)

if needed, clear the cache of the default browser

I've just notcied something else about this issue.  This only happens when I'm working on our PBI server.  If I'm working on my normal desktop I've only had to sign in once after running the update and since then every time I open PBI desktop, I'm signed in.

On the server, I have to sign in using the browser method every time I open a PBIX file in Desktop and then again when I want to publish (even though I appear signed in the the file).

Do you have any idea why this might be the case?  we haven't made any changes to how our server operates in a while so the only difference is the most recent PBI Desktop update.

To a certain extent yes, however I'm still having to sign in every single time I (via the browser now instead of in app) open a PBIX file which is incredibly frustrating and was never a requirement previously.
