Has Micvrosoft pulled the text.contain function

All of the suden text.contain no longer works. What or how can we search if a text field contains a value ? 

Text.contains is not recognized in Power BI desktop as any valid function. All the forums and Google searches are incorrectkly stating that this is supported inm power BI.

HasDoc = IF text.contains('00-GLSummary'[ORCTRNUM],"VCHR"),"1","0"

You can use Search Function

HasDoc = IF(SEARCH("VCHR",'00-GLSummary'[ORCTRNUM],1,0)<>0,1,0)

Your right, that works.  Text.contains must be an older method. This worked perfectly, Thanks!

Text. Contains is part of Power Query Language.

you can use this in Query Editor.
