I have the following single table model:
Table "PMQSDataAfrica" is a table with all data. I then created measures from this table and grouped them in different tables as can be seen in the models above. When i try to use the measures in Power BI reports I get the following error message:
"Can't display visual, see details' and the details are as follows:
However when i move the measures to the table "PMQSDataAfrica", I do not get any error message. I thought it was best practice to group data as i did as it makes it easily when building reports. What could be the problem as i have have always done this in my old reports.

Chris
Hi @Chitemerere ,
Just wanted to check when you created a measure table, in the starting you must have had a single column in this measure table right?
Did you Hide this column or remove this column?
You may be getting this issue because you may have removed this one and only column from you measure table. Idellay you should hide it rather than removing it.
See the following article on measure tables.

Thanks,
Pragati
I have recreated one of the tables to hold the measures and did not delete the created column. I then moved the respective measures into this table and there are no errors. However the visual is blank. Please see image below:
Prior to this, it was not blank. When I move back the measures to the mother table, the visual displays correctly. In prior versions of Power BI I would delete the created column1 with no problems at all

Chris
Hi, @Chitemerere
I wonder what the measure is like. A measure operates on aggregations of data defined by the current context. In a pivot table, for example, source tables are filtered according to the coordinates of cells, and data is aggregated and calculated using these filters.
You must define a measure whenever you want to display resulting calculation values
that reflect user selections and see them in the Values area of pivot tables, for example:
1. When you calculate profit percentage of a pivot table selection.
2. When you calculate ratios of a product compared to all products but keeping the filter both by year and region.
Best Regards
Allan

Many thanks, Pragati, yes I did remove the column as I have always done in the past. Let me try and rebuild the measure tables after moving the measures to the main table and i will give you a shout.

Chris
@Chitemerere did you turned on enhanced metadata in options -> preview, if yes, could you make sure you are on the most recent Power BI version. Not sure if this is the reason but it could be one of the reasons.
I would ❤ Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!

Many thanks Parry, I have done this in the past with the older versions where this preview option was not available.

Chris
@Chitemerere I know we all did this and that's the reason I asked you to check this enhanced metadata option is not checked, and you are on the latest version. There were some issues with it (not exactly the same) and if you even turned this option on and you are not on the latest version, it could be one of the potential reasons.

Thank you very much. I was hesitant to turn it on as I read on the possiblity of loss of data after this action in some article last week.
Best regards,
Chris
