Group By Tand filtering

Hi there ,

İ have a question about below topic :

i have a table which is calling table A and i am duplicating this table on power query side.

new duplicated table name is table B , and imagine that i am making group by on table B . then i go to power bi desktop and create 2 table vision one of them include table A colums , other one include table B columns.

when i want to filter one of table A column on filter pane ( filters on this page section ) , it does not affect the table vision that i created with the infos table B columns

what can i do to connect this table visions about filtering , could you give me any advice please

hi  @erhan_79

The main problem is that you don't create a relationship between tableA and tableB.

See this document for more details:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/desktop-create-and-manage-relationships

And since TableB is a summary table, when you create a relationship, please make the cross filter direction is "Both".

@erhan_79  try to use reference instead duplicate  inside power query

thanks @Anonymous ;

just i wonder why reference ? what is the difference between them ? also when i add new data to main table , it is adding to duplicated table too, when it will be reference it will add new datas too ?

I got lost in the 2nd imagine part.

Can you provide some sample data so we don't have to imagine, but can assist with real data on a real model?
