Google Analytics - We received unexpected data for a column of type 'Date'.

Hi there,

Just trying out the trial version of Power BI. Loading our Google Analytics into the system but we're getting an error and it doesn't load.

When I click on the technical information for the error, it states someyhing about the date being in an unexpected format? I would have thought the date provided by GA would be standard?!

Any ideas?

@neilp123 when you connect via connector do you get a preview of your data ? Also instead of Load do you get Edit buttion before loading and can you do that Edit and see if any format changes are required there ?

Nope, we don't get anything but the following error:

We couldn't import data from Google Analytics

According to the error message, the issue is on source data. A date type column contains incorrect values, maybe the data format can't be be recognised in Power BI Desktop. So please check your source data. And you can enable tracing to get more detail information when connecting data source.
