Getting rid of scrollbar when using date hierarchy with week numbers

Hi,

I need to plot time series data in week number format. I also need to have the whole plot in one page, i.e. NO SCROLLBARS. The implementation of this seems impossible and is driving me completely mad - how can a product miss this simple feature after so many years of development?

If I create a custom hierarchy PBI gives me absolutely no control over the x axis and seems that it decides it to be categorical, hence the scrollbar. The only way I have achieved to have a continuous x axis is to create a year+week variable which looks like this "202101" etc. In this case power bi, for some reason, adds values like 202180. From readability aspect this is stupid. If I try to format this to a more readable format, e.g. "01 - 2021" it becomes impossible to sort the axis properly.

sort the readable value "01 - 2021" by the 202101. so use the sort by column feature.

Have done this, but it won't get rid of the scrollbar. Since the readable variable cannot be number type, it cannot be continuous.

are you able to share some sample data with an example of what you expecting?

I am not able to share the data, but you can try to create a week number variable which acts as a continuous x axis. The other data does not matter.

if you want help you really do need to provide some sample data with an example.  If you read the first post on this forum it tells you how to get your data answered quickly.

I dont know what time frame you dealing with, i also dont know what picture you have in your head.  In order to provide the best solution you need to  supply if you want assistance.

Ok,

I really do think the case is quite simple as the other variable does not matter. Only the x axis, which is supposed to include a year and a weeknumber.

Like this but without the scrollbar. Does this help?

what is the time frame? is it a whole year?  Does it vary?

Hi, it is week-to-week starting from 2021 (not beginning of the year) and will update weekly in future.
