Getting OLE DB or ODBC error while opening a report in Power BI desktop sourcing data from snowflake

This is regarding the OLE DB or ODBC error which I am facing while opening a report (Table visual) in Power BI desktop, which is sourcing data from Snowflake views in a direct query mode. I am using the latest Power BI version (August 2023).

Below are the highlights related to the existing issue.

  • When I am opening a table visual report in a power BI desktop, I am getting the error.
  • When I am opening the same visual report in power BI service (published report), I am not getting any error and I am able to open the report successfully.
  • When I tried running the Dax query generated by Power BI in DAX studio, it is throwing the same error.
  • There the two separate Power BI reports with the similar table visual and I am facing same error with both the reports, where in I can open the report in Power BI service but not in the Power BI desktop.

Please find the error screen shot mentioned below for your

reference - 1st screenshot is from Power BI and 2nd screenshot is from Dax studio.

I welcome any advice or suggestions anyone may have to offer incase you have come across similar error. Thanks in advance.

@Anonymous I never used Snowflake as a source but cannot you use Snowflake connected rather OLE DB or ODBC?
