Gateway - Required or Not

Hi All,

 

I have created a dashboard in Power BI desktop using Hive as datasource. The same dashboard and data sets have been published. Now i want to know for refreshing the dashboard from app.powerbi.com do i need to install and configure gateway? Or i can refresh the dashboard withouth installing gateway? I don't have much idea about when and how to use gateway. Any help would be appreciated.

Hive doesn't have gateway support. You have to refresh it manually.

You will need to manually refresh it in Power BI Desktop and republish it.

For Manual refresh don't need to install gateway right? Can i refresh directly after publishing?
