Hi all,
using “Gantt Chart” By MAQ Software component in a report I have the need to order lines presented based on the "start date" of the activity which form me is the second column.
It seems it should be possible since small arrow are present in each column header.
By default the order applied is the alfabetic one on the first column (task name in this case) and clicking on the arrow it change the order (ascending / descending).
It seems it is also possible to order by other column: arrows are present also there.
Problem is that order is "additional", menaning that rows are ordered by first column, THEN by second column. It seems it is not possible to order only by second column.
In adiditon I noticed that before ordering with second column the first one must be ordered ascending. If it is descending, at first click (on the second column arrow) the order of the first column is changed to ascending and at the scond click (always on the second column arrow) the order in the second column is also changed.
Could you help me in finding a way to order ONLY by a single column on not with the combination af all (starting from the left)?
Thanks
Enrico

Hi @Anonymous ,
If you use the ordering function in MAQ Software,it will be applied in all the columns, the only solution is to create a measure to get the ordering number. You could use rankx or TopN function.

Hello all,
To sort by end date I have created an index by end date, and it works. But I need that index to be a sub-order within my first category (called goals) which I have simply enumerated 1 to 6. However the index is being applied to all columns.
Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance
Its Goals first (category A) and then the end date (index) for each of the actions in that goal.
Thanks alot!!

Hello,
We’ve notified our engineering team of “Sort by column” request. We value end-user experience and regularly add features based on feedback. Please follow our beta build page for new feature announcements.

For our table, an easier solution was to sort and then add an index.
1. Get the table to a state you need it
2. Sort by Start Date
3. Add Index column (native Power BI)
Then in the Visual, I just added Index as the first Category, renamed it as ID, and done. Then I was able to have the milestone title as the second value in the Category and it looked just perfect. No special expressions needed during the Transform Data.
